We provide training for members

Each year at the AGM, there is a stream of workshops on diversity issues.

We provide training for instructors on diversity issues through our workshop leader program and workshops offered to our member federations.

We also hold caucuses at the AGM of

• people of colour
• aboriginal people
• lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people
• people with disabilities
• seniors

We are developing leadership among diverse groups by

• encouraging people from diverse groups to apply to our workshop leader program
• offering a workshop at each AGM called So You Want to Become a CHF Canada Board Member
• encouraging people from diverse groups to run for our Board of Directors and Ontario Council
• holding a Youth Forum each year at our annual meeting
• encouraging diversity on the boards of housing co‑op

Through our Barrier-Free Access Policy, CHF Canada supports the full participation of people with physical disabilities in their housing co‑ops and in the larger community. Barrier-free access to businesses and community services is a critical factor in making that participation possible.
