Finding a housing co-op

Each of the housing co-operatives in these lists is owned co-operatively by its members, who elect a board of directors to govern and oversee its management. If you want to live in a housing co-op, you need to apply for membership. Members are expected to take part in running the co-op. Most co-ops have rent-geared-to-income units, and some offer housing for people with special needs.
