You won’t want to miss CHF Canada’s 2016 AGM in Hamilton, ON. This coming June, over 750 volunteer leaders and managers from across Canada will gather to attend workshops, have their say in the business of the national federation, network with friends and fellow co‑operators, celebrate our achievements and, of course, have some fun. Housing co‑ops will get the tools they need to prepare for the future, so make sure you plan to be there!

Exciting changes to the AGM schedule

The AGM dinner will now be held on Friday night, allowing participants to travel home after the business meeting on Saturday. The social event and welcome reception will be combined on Wednesday night. Other changes to the agenda have been marked with a 'NEW' symbol in the popup schedule at the top of the web page.

Registration information only on the web

The Annual Meeting registration information will no longer be mailed as a package to member housing co‑ops. Instead, the information should be found here, in the AGM Info Centre website. This should make it much easier to find everything you need to register and make your plans to attend the conference. Here is a downloadable version of the registration package.

In addition, we are pleased to report that there is no increase to the registration fee this year.

Here are just some of the highlights:

Choose from over 50 workshops at the Member Education Forum (June 8-10). Workshops will be held at the Hamilton Convention Centre, the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel and the Homewood Suites Hotel. The Co‑operative Management Conference (June 6-10) provides plenaries and workshops for staff/managers of housing co‑ops.

Have your say about policies, programs, and priorities at the National Business Meeting (June 11), which will be held at the Hamilton Convention Centre. Join with others from your region at the Ontario Members’ Meeting and other regional caucuses (June 10).

Resolutions, nominations and mailings

Your co‑op can submit a resolution to be debated and voted on at the AGM. The deadline to submit a resolution is March 9, 2016.

You can run for a position on the CHF Canada Board of Directors, Ontario Council, or the Finance and Audit Committee. A Call for Candidates will be sent to all members in late January, containing information about the positions available and how to submit a nomination.

The meeting information book will be given to participants on site.
