Co-ops: This June, don’t miss this chance to invest in professional development and register your staff in the Co-operative Management Conference.
With over 30 workshops and networking events, the Co-operative Management Conference is the premier professional development opportunity for managers, co-ordinators, and staff of housing co-ops.
In 2010, CHF Canada will once again be offering an Introduction to Co-operative Housing Management in Ontario.
For co-op staff across Canada, CHF Canada is also working with the Institute of Housing Management to offer a course on Property and Building Administration.
Green Spot
This year both the Member Education Forum and the Co-operative Management Conference will be jointly offering something new — The Green Spot. On Thursday June 10 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. all participants are invited to choose and attend one of ten workshops on sustainability issues — recycling, energy saving, environmental challenges, etc.
Highlights and other important information
The format of the 2010 Co-operative Management Conference has changed a bit from 2009:
- On-site registration begins on Wednesday, June 9 at 10 am at the Convention Centre.
- Registration from 10 am to 11 am will be for Co-operative Management Conference participants only.
- The Conference will begin with an Opening Brunch and plenary on Wednesday, June 9 at 11 am.
- Your first workshop begins on Wednesday, June 9 at 1:30 pm.
- On Thursday afternoon, the time slot of 4 pm to 5:30 pm is reserved for the Green Spot, a series of 10 workshops about housing co-ops and the environment.
- An optional Co-op Staff/Managers’ Lunch is being organized for Friday, June 11 from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm. The lunch will take place in the Carleton Salon at the Hilton Hotel. Please buy your ticket when you register for the Conference.
- For the third time, the Institute of Housing Management (IHM) will offer one of its core property management courses as a special four-day workshop.
