Nomination deadlines

  • Regional Directors (Board of Directors)

The nominations deadline for Regional Directors who are elected in their regions is 5:00 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, April 1st. Nominations will be accepted at the CHF Canada national office until that time.

  • At-large Directors (Board of Directors); Finance and Audit Committee; Ontario Council

The nominations deadline for candidates to be elected at the AGM is 5:00 p.m. NST (Newfoundland Standard Time) on Thursday, May 26th. Nominations will be accepted at the CHF Canada national office or, onsite at the AGM, at the AGM conference office until that time. Elections to the Board and Finance Committee are part of the National business meeting. Elections to the Ontario Council are part of the Ontario members’ meeting.

Nominations Process

You can run for the above positions if you are:

  • A member in good standing, director, officer, or employee of a CHF Canada member (Board and Finance and Audit Committee positions) or,
  • A member in good standing, director, officer, or employee of an Ontario member (Ontario Council positions)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • mentally competent
  • not an undischarged bankrupt.

You can nominate someone (including yourself) for election by sending a completed Nomination Form (Candidate Declaration Form) to our office before the nominations deadline (listed below). Candidates for all positions must fill out the Confirmation of Good Standing Form before their nomination can be accepted. This is to ensure that all candidates are qualified to serve in the position they are seeking. These forms can be downloaded here:

E-mail your nominations to CHF Canada’s Corporate Secretary, Nick Sidor. Please make sure your email asks that we confirm that it has been received.

Election material

We strongly encourage all candidates to declare their nomination as early as possible. We will help candidates in the following ways:

  • Helping candidates tell members about themselves on CHF Canada’s electronic voting site (for regional elections), and
  • For those candidates elected at the AGM, placing election material in the participants’ kits at the AGM.
