More then 300 member co‑ops at Halifax meeting

Wow! What a week!

The annual meeting was a big event, with more than 800 housing co‑op members and staff taking over the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre and nearby hotels. A total of 325 co‑ops participated in the meeting – close to the record set in Ottawa three years ago.

One of the more important events at every annual meeting is the election of the Board of Directors.

Members considered and passed a number of resolutions at the annual meeting.

For most members, the high point of the annual meeting is the business meeting, where 800 people from across Canada get together to talk about the issues that are important to housing co‑ops. This year’s meeting featured presentations on CHF Canada’s governance review process and an hour-long feedback session, where members gave their views on CHF Canada’s governance structure.

Annual meetings are also places where we recognize outstanding achievements of co‑ops and individuals with our annual awards.
