More than 700 CHF Canada members enjoyed beautiful weather for the 2009 annual meeting in Victoria. Mayor Dean Fortin welcomed the members to his city and announced May 30 to be Co‑operative Housing Day in Victoria. Members heard more details about the new federal money for renovations and energy retrofits from Ed Komarnicki, Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Diane Finley. They debated key issues and attended a wide range of workshops. Hot topics covered included leadership renewal, aging in place, becoming a 2020 Vision co‑op and sustainability.

Members passed resolutions, elected new members to the Board of Directors, Ontario Council and Finance and Audit Committee, and honoured co‑ops and individuals who have made a difference to our movement.
