Elections at CHF Canada’s 2003 annual meeting

One of the more important events at CHF Canada’s annual meeting is the election of the Board of Directors. Members elect a Board to direct the federation between annual meetings.

CHF Canada’s Board is made up of regional directors, a director representing the aboriginal community and five directors elected at large. Directors serve a two-year term and half of the Board is elected each year.

CHF Canada members elected three brand-new directors at the 2003 AGM. John MacDonnell joined the Board as the new Nova Scotia regional director. Members also elected Joanne Crouse as the regional director for Alberta and Theresa Smythe as the regional director for Saskatchewan.

Re-elected for another two-year term were at-large directors Isabel Evans, Vince Hall and David Howard and Quebec regional director René Daoust and PEI director Jim Clow. Here is a complete list of board members.

Thanks to retiring directors

At the AGM, members thanked retiring directors Laine Braden, Susan Wells and Emil van der Poorten for their hard work on behalf of CHF Canada.

René Daoust re-elected CHF Canada president

The new Board met following the AGM to elect the new executive. René Daoust, Quebec regional director, was elected president. René is Executive Director of FECHAM, a Quebec federation, and a member of Coopérative d'habitation Nouvelle Ère de Longueuil, in Quebec. Vince Hall was elected as Vice President and Joanne Mick as Treasurer. Wendy Huggan, Tony Legare and David Kelly are the other members of CHF Canada’s Executive Committee.
