What is FCHE?
FCHE was founded in 1997 to take the place of an earlier association in developing, serving and representing housing co-operatives in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. There are more than 30 member co-ops in FCHE.
How is FCHE run?
FCHE is governed by a board of directors with one director from each member. The federation employs three full-time staff members.

- Advice given over the phone
- Representation, insurance, planning, bulk-buying, management support and consultation
- Help for co-operatives in difficulty
Trained instructors deliver workshops in co-operative living and management.
By taking part in activites organized in Quebec by CQCH, as well as those organized nationally by CHF Canada, FCHE lobbies on behalf of co-operatives in Quebec. A staff member represents the association at CHF Canada’s Federations Committee.
