FÉCHAS was founded in 1997 to take the place of an earlier association in developing, serving and representing the housing co‑operatives of Royaume, Saguenay and Lac St-Jean. There are 42 co‑op members of FÉCHAS. How is FÉCHAS run? FÉCHAS is governed by a board of five directors. The federation employs one full-time and one part-time staff member. Services
FÉCHAS also gives workshops in co‑operative living and management. By taking part in activities organized in Quebec by CQCH, as well as those organized nationally by CHF Canada, FÉCHAS lobbies on behalf of co‑operatives in Quebec.
