What is FÉCHACQ?

FÉCHACQ is the oldest federation in Quebec, founded in 1981 to serve and represent the housing co‑operatives of Quebec Chaudière-Appalaches. There are nearly 170 members in FÉCHACQ.

How is FÉCHACQ run?

FÉCHACQ is governed by a board of nine directors. The federation employs 14 full-time staff members and one part-time staff member.

• Advice given over the phone
• Insurance, planning, administrative services
• Sweep-account investment pooling
• An investment and development fund.

Trained instructors provide a wide-range of workshops in co‑operative living and management. In partnership with CQCH, the federation participates in the administration of co‑op operating agreements for programs on behalf of the Quebec Housing Corporation.

By taking part in acitivites organized in Quebec by CQCH, as well as those organized nationally by CHF Canada, FÉCHACQ lobbies on behalf of co‑operatives in Quebec , A staff member represents the association at CHF Canada’s Federations Committee.
