Ontario Council President makes deputation at Queen's Park

JAN 18  This afternoon, Ontario Council President David Waters and Ontario Region Government Relations Manager Simone Swail were invited to speak to the Standing Committee of Finance and Economic Affairs.

Ontario Region has made their official submission to Queen's Park as they seek input on the 2017 budget. We have made 5 recommendations:

  • 1. Protect low-income households living in housing co‑ops
  • 2. Take an “affordable housing first” approach to surplus gov’t property
  • 3. Plan for the future – invest in green affordable housing
  • 4. Partner with federal housing co‑ops (and non-profits) to build new
  • 5. Build more co‑op housing

You can read the full submission here.
