WE RESOLVE:
THAT CHF Canada members support the statement of the values of Canada’s co-operative housing movement attached to this resolution.
OUR REASONS FOR THIS RESOLUTION ARE:
- Members last reviewed the values of Canada’s co‑op housing movement in 1997. Since then, members have identified other values that they share, and passed resolutions at past CHF Canada annual meetings that embody these new values.
- These include strong commitments to our co‑ops’ permanent non-profit status, diversity, fair treatment of co‑op managers, and environmental sustainability. Co‑ops have also focused on the value of providing a high-quality living environment for their members, reflected in their commitment to good governance and good management.
- The Board is pleased to submit a clear and concise set of our movement’s values for member consideration at the 2009 Victoria annual meeting.
WE THINK THAT THIS WILL COST:
The new values will be included in CHF Canada’s written material when existing material is replaced, so there are no extra costs associated with this resolution.
