CHF Canada is committed to providing co‑ops with the tools and resources they need to improve governance.
- In the spring edition of NewsBriefs, CHF Canada introduced The Year of Getting Governance Right, and explained why it is fundamental to the security of our co‑op sector. Co‑ops were also challenged to meet the 2020 Vision governance standard.
- Prior to the Town Hall on Governance at the Annual Meeting in St. John’s, co‑ops were encouraged to take the online version of the Good Governance Test. Over 250 co‑ops completed the test, and the results were discussed at the Town Hall. The Town Hall presentation is available online.
- The Good Governance Test is also available to download and print.
- CHF Canada has launched online learning with its first course – Board Basics Online. Anytime, anywhere directors and members can now learn about the roles and responsibilities of being a board member – a key step in getting governance right.
- At the 2011 AGM CHF Canada premiered Co‑op Housing at the Crossroads, a video outlining the urgent need to plan for our future before it’s too late.
